Even though Venice and Santa Monica are within walking distance- you’re going to want to get in the car and drive up to Santa Monica.  It should take anywhere from 10 minutes to 25 minutes, depending on traffic.  You can find free parking in Santa Monica, our favorite is at Santa Monica Place- the Mall.  You can pull in at 2nd Street and Colorado, park for free for three hours.

Walk over to the Pier from 3rd street and hang out, grab a snack or a drink and watch the sunset over the Pacific.  Honestly, some of the most amazing views you’ll see.  At the end of the Pier, there is usually some type of musical entertainment, so sip a Margarita and relax.
