For the first week of the 30 for 30 challenge, I’ll be re-discovering famous Hollywood landmarks. Even though the challenge is about creating different outfits, this is still a travel blog!
For day two, Bob and I wandered around Amoeba Music on Sunset Boulevard. Just a few blocks down from the Walk of Fame, Amoeba Music has entertained all kinds of music lovers since 2001. Just take a cue from their mission statement: “If you love music, let us be your ultimate source for inspiration!” And, Whoa!- this place is so big. Even though there were rooms that we never even went into, I had so much fun being around such an exciting vibe and energy that I felt really inspired the rest of the day.
Outfit details: Pencil skirt (thrifted) , chambray shirt (Marshalls), white tank (Gap), cowboy boots (Lucky Brand), knee socks and brown belt. The great thing about a pencil skirt is that you can dress it up or down depending on the other aspects of your outfit. A really casual shirt, leather cowboy boots and belt and simple white tank, help to keep this an easy transition from fancy to city-walkable. Tucking in the shirt would have been a completely different look than I was going for considering the location and vibe of the store. Not going to lie, I felt awesome in this outfit. Like seriously… where was a guitar because I should probably be a singer/songwriter!
- The first Amoeba Music store opened in Berkeley, California.
- They hold auctions every Saturday to donate and aid relief for the Humane Society,Gulf Coast Relief, American Red Cross and the Rainforest Action Network.
