Hello,
Florida!

The Sunshine State is so much more than just theme parks and beaches. The Atlantic Coast looks completely different than the Gulf Coast and then even more different from Miami and The Keys. With cultural influences from Spain, Cuba, and the Caribbean, and The South, expect to be surprised with each dining stop or museum visit. From Dali to Art Deco, manatees to ghost crabs, and real mermaids to giant alligators, Florida could take years to fully explore. No doubt when or where you visit, you’ll fall in love.

At 30,000 Feet: 1,350 Miles of Coastline. Average temperature is 70 degrees. St. Augustine, settled by Europeans in 1565, is commonly called the nation’s oldest city. 175 State Parks. Largest collection of Art Deco buildings in the world.

1.5 million alligators in Everglades National Park

4,510 Islands

2,800 Miles of Road Trips

Best Advice. Every city in Florida has a different personality and offers something different – either in the culinary scene or art and history. Plus, you’re never more than 60 miles from a body of water anywhere in the state. In our opinion, Florida is best explored in the Fall, where the weather is just perfect and there are way less crowds.

Insider Notes

Tip 1

Don’t try to do it all in one visit. Plan mini trips to really soak up each experience.

Tip 2

Disney World and surrounding parks could easily take a week or longer to fully enjoy. We suggest picking one park each visit so you don’t get overwhelmed or worn out of theme parks.

Tip 3

The beaches on the Panhandle have that silky white sand and emerald green water that reminds us of the Caribbean. Prepare to spend all day in the warm Gulf.

Tip 4

Different cities have different dress codes. Don’t assume everywhere is laid back beach casual. Miami and most of south Florida dresses to the nines.

Tip 5

Driving from Jacksonville to the Keys is around 12 hours, with stops.
