Day four: It’s my birthday! Woo Hoo !
We couldn’t leave Hollywood without stopping by Pink’s on La Brea. Serving up delicious hot-dogs for over 70 years, this family owned and operated hot-spot seems to always have a long line! Even at 2:45am on a Saturday morning, people are lined up around the block. And, I don’t blame them. These babies are good!
The only good thing about waiting in line is that you have plenty of time to decide what to get. I know what you’re thinking, “get a hot-dog”, but it’s not that simple. While they are known for their chili dog, they also have specialities like a guacamole dog, bacon burrito dog (flour tortilla wrapped around 2 dogs, cheese, 3 slices of bacon, chili and onions= a delicious heart attack), “Rosie O’Donnell” dog, “Lord of the Rings” dog! We went with the original, especially considering that all their hot dogs are made just for them out of all beef and the chili a secret family recipe, we had to try them- plain and simple.
outfit details: Dress (Quiksilver), boots (lucky brand), bracelet, sunglasses. I wore the same boots as on day two, and mixed in the bracelet from day three. Picking a few fun accessories really can change a whole look. Weather has been crazy this week- hot and then cold, but this weekend looks like it’s going to be really sunny and warm! Can’t wait to remix the clothes for warmer weather!
- They open every day at 9:30am.
- The chili is a family recipe, made my Betty Pink!
- The beef hot-dogs snap as you bite into them.
- They’ve served hot-dogs to so many celebrities- Celine Dion, Aerosmith, and Jay Leno (just to name a few!)
Have you had one of their famous hot-dogs? Which type did you try?!
