For the first week of the 30 for 30 challenge, I’ll be re-discovering famous Hollywood landmarks. Even though the challenge is about creating different outfits, this is still a travel blog!
On day 5, we went for a walk through Hollywood Forever Cemetery. It’s amazing how serene and quiet these few blocks are considering we were still in the heart of busy Hollywood and right off Santa Monica Blvd. The weather was perfect for a stroll and the skies were so clear and blue. We could see the Observatory and the Hollywood sign perfectly.
Many of Hollywood’s most notable directors, producers, writers and actors have been buried here. They have maps online so visitors can pay their respects to these legends. Most recognized names include Johnny Ramone, Cecil B. DeMille, Jayne Mansfield, Rudolph Valentino, and Douglas Fairbanks.
outfit details: dress (worn as skirt, Gap), shirt, scarf (Lucky Brand), belt (Gap).
It was a tad cooler today and to keep a little modesty, I wore a longer dress with full sleeved shirt and scarf. Even though there isn’t a dress code, I felt more comfortable being more modest than I normally would dress.
Fun Fact: Every summer they show movies projected on a huge wall in the back. We’ve come before where everyone brings a big blanket, picnic food and watches the movies under the stars. If you’re ever in Hollywood in the summer time, I would highly recommend this experience.
