Ha! The title of this post is hilarious. Does the perfect apartment in Los Angeles even exist? What would be the criteria for that? If I were designing the perfect place, it would be a second floor, on the beach, central AC (even though you don’t need it, the comfort of knowing you have it is nice), 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, roof top patio (to enjoy all those beautiful nights), door man and gym included. Oh, and all of that for only 1400 a month!

Ha, ha, ha.

Like I said, that doesn’t really exist. What does exist is our new place. A 2 story, 2 bedroom townhouse type apartment, with beautiful huge windows, glossy hardwood floor, and green, beachy paint in the front room. The living room and kitchen are separate (never had that before!) and the bedrooms are both upstairs. Plus, it’s still in our favorite neighborhood within walking distance to tons of great restaurants and bars.

Also, we are allowed to paint whatever colors we want and hang things on the walls! Our last horrible mold apartment forbid hanging or putting anything on the walls. For someone who takes a lot of photos and collects a lot of stuff, this led to tons of pictures behind my bed in hopes of one day being able to show them off. (Can’t wait to make a gallery wall of photos up the staircase hall!)

Here’s Bob getting to work on the yellow kitchen. Gross. I’m sure some people like yellow, it’s a fine color, but it does nothing for me. It just looks dingy and so we painted it all out. New white paint in- yay- and new green paint on the cabinets. The new white makes the whole place look much more clean and fresh. I wish Bob would want to paint the whole place, but we realized while painting, Bob isn’t really the painting type. He has no idea what to do. (He’ll admit it!) He is horrible at cutting in and holding the brush steady. He is very, very good at big open walls and scraping old paint. He’s a champ!

We’ve just moved in and there are boxes everywhere- as soon as I get some type of order in here, I’ll post after shots. Can’t wait to get this place feeling like home!
