After a five hour flight delay, I landed in Boise at 3:30am. The small airport seemed even smaller without any people in it as I sleepy-eyed my way towards the rental car counter. Luckily one counter was still open- not the company I had pre-registered with (they were long since closed at this hour, making me a very unhappy rental car customer)- but another company that was open, happy to rent me a car for the next four days.
I was going to road trip around Idaho– a state I had never visited- and I was super excited. I have written about various parts of the trip for Travel Mindset- including my test with a strange fear of heights, where I jumped off a 20 foot cliff into Red Fish Lake, a favorite hiking spots in Sun Valley and a waterfall that just doesn’t seem real.
It was easy to fall in love with Idaho and the small towns and friendly cities we visited. If you haven’t yet visited that state- I highly suggest a summer road trip. Here are some of my favorite photos that I took and a few links to the posts I wrote on Travel Mindset.
(My first meal in Boise was breakfast at BACON. As I’m sure you can guess, they serve bacon with everything! I had a spicy BLTA!)
(Farmer’s Market in Boise before we departed for McCall. The fresh lemonade was delicious.)
(McCall, Idaho. An adorable ski town that is perfect during summer.
I could see taking my family once I have a few kiddos in tow!)
(The light is horrible- but look at the size of that cinnamon bun thingy!)
( another cute lake spot, this time in Stanley at Red Fish Lake and Lodge. This is where I jumped off the 20 foot cliff despite wanting to pee my pants and feeling my stomach do flip flops. Afterwards, I did it again!)
(Pretty flowers in Sun Valley)
(Thousand Springs State Park– the most beautiful and intriguing state park you’ve never heard of! ha!)
