Hello,
Road Trips!

There’s nothing quite like exploring the open road. The feeling of setting out with an end destination in mind but being able to stop for adventures at different mile markers whenever your heart desires is almost indescribable. We especially love road trips for family travelers as you can pack more adventures into every trip. Whether you start out from a big city for small weekend getaways or embark on a longer multi-state trek, your road trip is bound to be one for the memory books.

At 30,000 Feet: Top reason to go on a road trip is the flexibility and ease to alter your route. There are no set times for departure. Stumble upon adventures and hidden gems you would normally fly over. You aren’t limited to just your checked bags. The Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park and Yellowstone National Park were the top three road trip destinations in 2019. Most campsites can be booked up to 6 months in advance.

Best Advice. Start saving amazing destinations, restaurants and attractions on Instagram through its save function. Put each saved photo in a different destination folder. Do the same for Pinterest. Then once it’s time to plan your road trip you can pull all your saved photos and posts from months of casually scrolling so you don’t miss out on any of the awesome spots you’ve seen and lusted after.

Insider Notes

Tip 1

Plot out one activity each day, allowing for a few hours to just stumble upon new activities or restaurants.

Tip 2

Pack plenty of snacks and water. We love nuts, fruits, and easy to eat in the car sandwiches. Anything that is soupy or takes a fork and a knife is not great for the road.

Tip 3

Mix your accommodations – pick a luxury hotel in one city, an AirBNB in the next and then a camp ground or yurt for the last one. This will help make each spot feel extra special.

Tip 4

Don’t forget your tripod so you can take family photos without the need for someone to take it of you.

Tip 5

Have the route on your phone (in maps) and a printed copy incase you lose cell service.

Tip 6

Get a window screen to protect the kids in the back from the harsh sun.
