Today, Bob and I went to Santa Monica to hang out, grab lunch and walk around the beach. So far the 30 for 30 challenge has been going really well. We are venturing around to areas we don’t go to very often and I’m enjoying every minute of it! Even though the challenge is about creating different outfits, this is still a travel blog!
This area of Santa Monica is known for the pier and 3rd street shopping, but my favorite part is actually the overlook. You still have the same beautiful views, but you aren’t surrounded by as many people. This path above the beach and ocean in Santa Monica may just be the prettiest running path I’ve ever seen. I wish I had known about it when I was training for my half marathon because looking at that view would have been a lot better than running around the side streets in my neighborhood! Besides tons of runners, there were a lot of people laying out, with a picnic and their dogs, just enjoying the gorgeous weather we’ve been having lately.
I knew I was going to wear jeans, so I opted for my white jeans for a little more casual feeling. Something about white jeans just screams beach to me! To complete the look, I decided on a white top, too, and topped it with my favorite new scarf that my mom gave me for my birthday. Such a clean, crisp look that was perfect for a day gazing at the beautiful blue ocean. (I also wore the white top and scarf on day 5, however with the jeans it looks completely different!) I even took a photo of Bob today… cause he is just so cute!
What do you wear to the beach when it’s not warm enough for shorts? Have you ever been to Santa Monica?
