I love road trips. LOVE them! I love the freedom of choosing what sights to see, navigating the open road, and I love finding cute cities that I may have never heard about because they aren’t on any must see list. I have driven North, South, East, and West in the United States and when we were on our RTW trip, I tried to include as many road trips as I could, but I can’t go everywhere. Some places haven’t crossed my flightpath yet, and even more places are being developed or changed. These are the places I have stumbled across in pictures, and even better on film. While watching a movie isn’t the same as going, especially in HD, movies can be the next best thing to cruising along the road myself.
So, when I saw that One Week was streaming on Netflix, I decided to take a little road trip from my couch. The movie, starring Joshua Jackson, is about a man’s road trip from Toronto to Vancouver, after he finds out that he only has one week to live. Pacey Josh was cute, maybe even a little endearing, and the soundtrack composed of all Canadian artists was pretty rad too, but the real star of the show was the landscape. The natural scenery of his journey made me long for a road trip across Canada, but until I can do it on my own, I got this virtual tour of the Canadian countryside.
Another theme from the movie- maybe more important than the idea of road trips, is what would you do if you found out you only had one week to live?
For me- I’d go to the Galápagos Islands. I’d also want to have fried shrimp and key lime pie as my last meal!
I’d love to know what you would do if you only had one week to live.
