I’m not who I was two years ago, before I started seeing the world as a traveler. I knew I always had a passion for ‘seeing the world’, but, until I really allowed myself to embrace my feelings, I had no idea how fulfilling I find it- even just as a state of mind. That traveler’s mindset has actually made me a better Vagabond -open to exploring even the most ordinary of places, and, while I have gone to places all over the world and cherish those memories, the actual experiences are mostly pinned down in iPhoto albums.
Yet, I still stand changed.
Now when I look at myself – I see this person who is a colorful collection from all the different people and places I’ve visited. Through my journeys, and those of the great travel blogs I read everyday, my sense of style, taste in music and views on art have all changed. Most recently, I’ve started taking these bits of foreign flare and dwelling on them, choosing to let my life be even more influenced by the travels I’ve had and the travels of others. This is something I’ve titled lifestyle travel.
Why stop exploring just because we are at home?
Earlier this year, I set out to Travel my own City and invited you along for the ride. And, now I want to do it again- except not just my own city. Through music, movies, recipes, fashion, design inspiration and more, we have set out to travel the world every day to inspire us all to keep that traveler spirit alive. We can continue to embark on the self examination that traveling so easily provides. We can break out of the vicious cycle of post-travel blues.
We can travel the world every single day.
Starting this week, come back Monday through Friday for lifestyle travel posts. Want to join us? Is there a way to experience your city from … my city?! Let us know about it or email us for guest post opportunities.
