Traveler’s Night In: High Altitude Travel

Hiking in the mountains makes you feel like you're on the top of the world photo by @Banff_Squirrel

This week’s topic on Traveler’s Night In, a “Tweet-up” for travelers, was High Altitude Travel. Ten questions were asked, tagged #TNI, and afterwards I added several Mile High cities to my bucket list!

Here are the questions:

Q1. Favorite high-altitude activity?

  • @MiddleSeatView confession: my most exciting high altitude activity was going to my cousin’s wedding in Denver!
  • @theexplorateur Flying of course but watching the transition from night to day on a transatlantic flight- beautiful!
  • @michael_whitman Hiking!!
  • @ehalvey Going to the top of churches for the view. 600 year old buildings have proven themselves to me, not skyscrapers or ski lifts.
  • @packdsuitcaseJumping out of a ittle pink plane in Taupo, NZ http://tinyurl.com/47xo9ww

Q2. Tips for combating altitude sickness and/or fear of heights?

  • @banffrocksI want to ski in Arizona. And then golf the same day. Then eat my weight in chimichangas. And then retire.
