Virginia Beach, Here we come!

In about an hour, I will pack up my bags into my car and drive to LAX. I’ll be getting on a flight to a destination that I’ve never been to and am so excited about visiting. If you didn’t get the hint from the title, we’re going to Virginia Beach!

The last time I visited Virginia, I was in the fifth grade and I was on a patrol field trip with my graduating class and our moms. We toured Washington DC and colonial Williamsburg. Those were the days when you could still swim in a pool on a field trip and no one was worried about being sued. Oh, also, our train (we Amtraked it) actually hit someone and we were stranded on the tracks for hours in the middle of the night.  It was a blast.

This time and twenty years later, Bob and I are off for a wild adventure to the shores of Virginia. We are going on several animal encounters, visiting some museums, the farmers market, and just relax on the beach. It is supposed to be in the high 70’s all week and I can’t wait for a little pre-wedding vacation. What exactly would that be called, a pre-honeymoon? Whatever it’s called, I’m excited! I packed my beach hat, bathing suit, sundresses and flip flops.

And, yes, I typed twenty years later… I’m officially one of those old people who can relate to things by decade. Fun.

What are you up to this week?
