Exploring Virginia Beach

  • 1 min read

Y’all know that my happy place is anywhere near the ocean. There’s just something about that cool sea breeze, calming sounds of the ocean and bright warm sunshine on my shoulders that makes me feel more like myself than anywhere else. So it’s was such a pleasure to spend a long weekend in Virginia Beach with my mom, kayaking, hiking, taking long strolls on the beach and watching dolphins play from my oceanview balcony.

Virginia Beach (for those who haven’t been before) is an adventure-lover’s dream destination. In our long weekend trip we explored two state parks, SUPed, kayaked, hiked, watched the sun rise and the sun set and ate our fair share of amazing east coast seafood. It was the perfect trip.

Here are a few photos from our trip:

Hike in Back Bay Wildlife Refuge
Snapping sunset photos in First Landing State Park
Hiking the bay side of First Landing State Park
The empty beach at Back Bay Wildlife Refuge (those are our footprints and only ours!)
Woke up super early to get that coveted East Coast sunrise shot. It was worth it!
Me and my momma!
Kayaking near Sandbridge
These are the delicious crab balls. Oh yeah!
sunset seafood dinner! woohoo

If you’re planning you’re own trip to Virginia Beach, I wrote a few posts for Travel Mindset. One on the top adventure activities (with links to everything we did) and one on top Instagram spots. If you have any questions on planning your own trip, let me know and I’ll help out any way I can. Highly suggest a summer trip this year!
