Day 10/30: Cupcakes in Burbank

Macaroons may be the “it” dessert of 2011, but my heart still swoons over cupcakes! Yummy Cupcakes is a frequent stop for me whenever I’m in Burbank. I usually stop in because of their awesome Twitter freebies (if you have a Twitter account and you’re not following them- you should be!). They offer a special Twitter cupcake FREE to the first 20 or so people who mention the secret word of the day. Needless to say, we’ve tried a ton of different cupcakes, some of which I might not have tried otherwise! Today’s special was Southern Honey BBQ. I mean- Are you kidding me?! Southern Honey BBQ (I’ll say it again), this cupcake was divine!

Besides mouth-watering, sugar coma inducing cupcakes, they also have cupcakes in a jar (amazing) and cupcake truffles! Bob really loves the truffles because they are so easy to just pop in your mouth with less mess of biting into a cupcake! How do you like your cupcake?!

As for my outfit, I wore the same dress that I wore to Pink’s on day 4, but since it was a little cooler, I added a few layers. I know people who travel with mostly black clothes because they feel like they can go with anything and easily be dressed up or down. And, I agree. Bring a few black basics- leggings, tights, long black shirt, shoes- and then mix them with more fun pieces so you don’t look basic.

I’m sure you can tell by the other days of my style challenge, but I’m not really one for blending in. I feel like the way you dress is the best first impression you can give someone. By dressing presentable, whether fashion-forward or a basic, but ironed shirt, is always a good way to start.  What do you think? Do you think your clothes tell a story about you?

Cupcake? Yes, Please!
