After the last couple of days of rain and cold, Bob and I wanted to get outside today. We decided to take a picnic to Griffith Park and then walk around the Autry National Center. We had no idea what exhibit was on, but I kind of loved the idea of spontaneously exploring a museum. Turns out the exhibit was The Masters of American West Fine Art and Sale, and the Third Sunday Jam with live musicians and a poetry slam. The exhibit/sale is “considered the country’s most important Western art show. Each year, more than 75 nationally recognized, contemporary Western artists challenge themselves to create and exhibit their very best work. Stylistically and thematically diverse, their works represent the extraordinary range of subject matter that contemporary, historic, and mythic Western experiences inspire”. Woohoo- we stumbled upon an awesome local event- I love when that happens!
Since it’s been a little cooler lately, I’ve been all about layering up. I wore the shirt dress from day 11, the shirt from day 7 and topped it all off with one of my handmade scarfs! I love the mix of patters, textures and colors. It’s a lot going on, but I felt really happy in this outfit. Oh, and sweater tights- amazing! They are the perfect thickness for a chilly day and since they are more opaque than tights, they allow for a shorter hemline without revealing too much. What do you wear to museums? Dress up or down?
