Traveler’s Night In: Personal Paradise Edition

This week’s topic on Traveler’s Night In, a “tweet-up” for travelers, was Personal Paradise.  Ten questions were asked, tagged #TNI, and as always, I was craving an exotic beach and all the delicious food everyone was talking about! (Food= my personal paradise!)

Here are the questions:

Q1. Closest place to “paradise” you’ve ever been?

  • @endlessterrain Closest place to paradise for me was Elbow Beach in #Bermuda
  • @RickGriffin Other than the back seat of my ’73 Buick Regal when I was in High school, Id say Napa Valley
  • @clareappleyard That would have to be Inhaca Island, Mozambique – white sands, blue skies…and giant, juicy prawns!
  • @LuxeTiffany Closest place to “paradise” you’ve ever been? #TNI @JadeMountain St. Lucia is right there on that list too. Breathtaking #Caribbean.
  • @MalloryOnTravel My personal paradise is any of the greater ranges, the Himalaya, Alps, Rockies, clear skies & jaw-dropping vistas
  • @FrankDiCesare Martha’s Vineyard. Love that place!

Q2. Hotel that is heaven on earth? Why?

  • @ZipSetRachel Not be a PSA, but you can’t beat a @fourseasons
  • @Chimeratravel Bora Bora Lagoon Resort (or was, not sure it’s there now). Overwater bungalo with glass coffee table, watching fish swim beneath u
  • @TravelProducer Sort of a “Sophie’s Choice” Question. Pink Sands Resort on Harbor Island in the Bahamas was awesome! Total R&R!
  • @FrankDiCesare The Le Pavillon Hotel in New Orleans. Why? I’m convinced God is the head chef.
  • @kelleyferro Reschio in Tuscany, Ladera Resort in St Lucia, Palazzo Sasso in Ravello, 4 Seasons in Istanbul, Parrot Cay in Turks & Caicos

  • @wnderlustprojct ABSOLUTELY NOTHING..but I guess if I got bored, then reading a good book and sipping some alcohol infused fruit drink
  • @mygo2it Lying in the sand with a drink in hand. Oh paradise? Ok, maybe two drinks.
  • @SkierGrrl Surfing. Hammock. Nap. Fruity drink. Hammock. Then more drinks and hammock time (Costa Rica) = paradise
  • @NomadKeith Sailing, maybe a quad bike or a hot-air balloon or airship ride.
  • @NatGeoKrista My day in paradise: sunrise yoga on the beach, brunch, hike in the forest, lunch with wine, nap by the pool, dinner at sunset

Q4. Describe the perfect meal

  • @itchyfeet_kg Big steak, cooked rare with a side of homemade chips. Yep simple pleasures.
  • @BarefootImports Anything with fresh shrimp and ice cold beer
  • @KatyHarrison20 Wine. Do you really need anything else?
  • @friedman_rachel Dessert First. Whatever happens after that, it’s all good.
  • @Inga_Ros Tapas or sushi and white wine.
  • @Marilyn_Res The perfect meal is one that I don’t have to cook!
  • @sillyamerica enchiladas and a margarita. or shrimp and steak and a glass of wine. or just a big piece of chocolate cake.
