This weekend Bob and I are participating in a good ole staycation vacation away from our home but in the same city. (Apparently staycation is dead, as I was informed on Monday over margaritas in our hood.)
Anyway, we’re going to stay at a swanky hotel in downtown LA, see a dodgers game, lay out by the pool of the hotel, grab a fun cocktail at a bar we’ve never been to and more. Even though we only live 12 minutes (without traffic) from DTLA, we hardly ever visit. It’s just not in our normal route and unless we have a party or a concert, we don’t make the trip down there. This weekend, however, we are going to hit up all the downtown LA spots I’ve heard about for years and some favorites that I want to visit again.
Here is our list so far:
- LA Library (Bob’s pick)
- Natural History Museum of LA County (My pick)
- Bottega Louie Restaurant and Gourmet Market (My pick)
- Grand Central Market or the Flower Market (My pick)
- Churros from Olvera Street (Bob’s pick)
- Angel’s Flight (Bob’s pick)
- craft beer and small plates at eat drink americano (my pick)
- poketo store for cool gifts and home decor (my pick)
I know its way too much for one weekend, but we will just pick and choose which ones to do as we feel like it. I’m really excited for this weekend. It’s the first time in a long time that Bob and I are traveling but not really traveling. It will feel like a nice little break from the everyday without the hustle of packing a huge suitcase and waiting through security lines. Well, at least the security line part, i’m sure I’ll still pack a huge suitcase!
Have you ever staycationed?
