On our last full day in Loreto, we traveled to Coronado Island on a snorkeling cruise tour with Wild Loreto.

It is said that “To be in Loreto, is to feel the soul of nature in Mexico.” I’m not sure who said it first (I found it listed on promotional website for Loreto tourism) but I believe it completely. Out on the water, looking at this incredible blue green water, a color that seems too unreal to actually exist in the wild, you feel at once in touch with nature and your surroundings. Our world is big, it seems bigger every time I travel somewhere new. (You think it’d be the opposite, but it’s not.) Our planet is full of life and it is absolutely amazing that we get to play in these landscapes, in these waters.

I’m feeling incredibly grateful lately. Grateful for my family, my friends, my life. Grateful that I wake up every day next to a man I love so much and who loves me so very much. I’m grateful for the experiences we have had and those that are coming in the future.

This was a perfect day. Not because it cost a lot of money (the tour is relatively inexpensive) or because it is so isolated that no one can go there (Alaska Airlines flies direct to Loreto from LA), but because it was so wild, so free and so inviting. There are moments when I’m traveling and I experience something new that really touches me deep at my core and makes me reevaluate everything in my life. This was one of those moments.

When was the last time you were changed by a travel experience?
